Mines SWE planned and performed Girls on the Rise, an outreach event to inspire and introduce middle school girls to STEM. During Girls on the Rise, middle school girls came to the Mines campus for a morning of interactive learning and discussion. SWE volunteers guided girls through six experimental activities that each related to a degree and career in a STEM field, and the girls used the scientific process to hypothesize and analyze the experiments’ outcomes.
