To avoid the crowds of Election Day, our SWE Outreach branch hosted an event where students could go in as a group to vote together. We all discussed important policies, issues, and candidates that would be on the ballot to help best inform ourselves before actually voting. It was also a great opportunity for our freshmen, who are voting for the first time, to be in a supportive environment with their peers and upperclassmen to subdue any nerves or anxiety. It was a special event where SWE members could perform their civic duties for our Austin community together.
